With Places, Radar can tell you when a user visits a place, chain, or category, even if you haven't set up a geofence for that place. Radar supports hundreds of categories and thousands of chains.
While it was already possible to filter events by chain and category programmatically, you can now filter events project-wide via the dashboard. Now it's easier than ever to monitor the chains and categories that matter to your app.
For example, if you're building a travel app, you might want to know when a user is at an airport, or when a user is at a specific set of hotel chains:
If you're building a social app, you might want to know when a user is at a restaurant or bar:
If you're building a shopping app, you might want to know when a user is at a specific set of retail chains:
If you're building a restaurant app, you might want to know when a user is at a specific set of restaurant chains:
Or, if you're building a fitness app, you might want to know when a user is at a gym, or when a user is at a specific set of fitness retail chains:
The possibilities are endless.
All customers can start using chain and category filters today. See the Places documentation.
