"In an industry where geolocation accuracy directly affects licensing and player trust, we needed more than a vendor who could check a box. Radar has operated as an extension of our compliance strategy, and their responsiveness has matched the pace we operate at."

The challenge

Upgrading geolocation infrastructure ahead of a multi-market expansion

When Delta Bingo & Gaming entered the online gaming market in 2023, they built their initial geolocation compliance through a joint venture that outsourced location verification to a third party. That arrangement supported their Ontario launch, but as Jason Karklins, VP of iGaming, began planning Delta’s expansion into Alberta in 2026, he identified a gap the existing setup couldn’t close.

Provincial regulations require players to be physically located in the province where they place wagers, and multi-market operators face regular compliance audits from provincial authorities to ensure adherence. Jason’s outsourced arrangement handled the location checks, but gave his team limited direct access to the underlying data and processes behind those checks, which meant limited ability to independently investigate flagged activity in real time.

“As we prepared to scale into new provinces, we knew we needed more direct visibility into how our geolocation data was processed," Jason says. "We wanted a hands-on solution that our own team could operate and audit directly, without relying on a third party to interpret the data for us.”

As Delta prepared to operate across multiple provinces, each with its own regulatory requirements and audit standards, Jason wanted a platform built for that level of scrutiny from the outset. He also needed a solution that would be simple for his internal team to manage without heavy training and invisible to players, with no extra apps or steps at the point of play.

With these requirements in mind, Jason evaluated three providers, and Radar rose to the top for its intuitive tooling and transparent pricing. When the team ran a demo using real Canadian data, Delta saw how successfully the platform would perform under production conditions.

“We wanted more hands-on capability and more visibility as we expanded. That meant finding a partner built for the scale we were heading toward, not just the market we started in.”
The solution

One modern, flexible platform for precise geolocation and fraud prevention

Radar aligned with Delta’s migration timeline early on, working directly with Delta’s gaming platform provider to expedite API integration.

After a quick onboarding process, Delta’s team started using the platform right away. The interface was intuitive for new and existing team members alike, enabling everyone to ramp up without extended timelines or dense training materials.

With Radar, Jason’s team now has real-time visibility into where players are and how geolocation decisions are made, with all relevant location and verification data accessible through a single interface.

That access proved invaluable when Delta experienced a targeted fraud attempt shortly after launch. The Delta team first spotted unusual deposit patterns, then used Radar’s dashboard to identify clusters of new accounts opening from the same physical location. Radar’s team moved quickly to contain the issue before it escalated.

“They immediately identified the locations involved, geofenced them, and blocked new accounts from those specific areas,” Jason explains.

Radar’s benefits extend beyond fraud prevention. The dashboard makes it easy for Delta’s team to surface the data that matters most, including common player devices, as well as insights that help guide decisions on resource allocation and future product updates.

The platform also stays invisible to players, with no clunky steps or outside app downloads required. “Our players don’t actually know what Radar is," Jason says. "The platform works so seamlessly that it’s invisible to our users.”

Ahead of Delta’s Alberta launch on July 13, Radar’s proactive approach had already made an impact. After Jason mentioned Radar during a routine conversation with the Alberta regulator, the regulator confirmed Radar had already reached out to discuss technical requirements, giving Delta added confidence heading into a new market.

“Radar is nimble and responsive. When something happens, they understand how critical it is to act in the moment.”
The results

Confident expansion and faster fraud investigations

With Radar, Delta turned geolocation into a reliable, scalable advantage, helping the team reduce unnecessary risk and focus on growth.

The results:

  • Significant annual cost savings (compared with previous vendor)
  • Faster and more effective investigations into suspicious account activity
  • Faster fraud identification and mitigations

Going forward, Jason is excited to see what Radar builds next. He’s confident that the team’s ongoing investment in new features will continue to strengthen Delta’s operations and advance the industry.

“Radar really takes the time to understand new markets and stay updated on all technical and regulatory requirements. When we go to a new market, we know they’ve already done their homework and will help us succeed.”
